If we’ve been a little quiet… it’s because we’ve been busy doing rescue work.

Behind the scenes we’ve been answering rescue calls, caring for animals, building shelters, coordinating help, and doing everything we can for the ones who have no one else. When you’re a very small rescue, there’s no big staff — just a few warriors doing everything with heart.

And trust us… we have a LOT to catch you up on. 🐾

Some beautiful updates and rescue stories are coming soon.

As we continue to grow, we are always looking for volunteers who want to be part of this mission. Whether it’s helping with animals, transport, building projects, social media, fundraising, or lending a hand where needed most — every warrior makes a difference.

HEY WARRIORS 🖤

Yesterday, WHAR stepped in just in time.

This little soul was sitting in a shelter with a deadline a beautiful bird who was scheduled to be euthanized simply because there was nowhere else for him to go. We couldn’t let that be his ending.

He is stunning. And even more heartbreaking… you can tell he belonged to a flock or had a mate. When he hears other birds, he calls out searching, hoping, remembering. 💔
It’s a sound you don’t forget.

Right now, he’s safe. He’s decompressing with us, learning that he’s no longer disposable, no longer alone. We’ll give him the time, quiet, and care he needs to heal and we’ll let you know when he’s ready for adoption.

This is why we do what we do.
This is WHAR.

The dog we saved off the streets of Bakersfield… only to discover he had been shot in the chest, a bullet still inside him.

Ninja’s eye removal surgery was a success, and guess what?
He’s already back to being his happy, feisty, spicy self like nothing can stop him. 😎🔥

One eye down, zero confidence lost.
He’s healing beautifully, strutting around like the warrior he is, and reminding us all that resilience comes in small, furry packages with big personalities.

Can you believe it took 11 months to finally earn Scarlett’s trust? For so long, no one could even get near her let alone touch her. Today… she lets me hug her, kiss her, and love on her. ❤️

This is what consistency, patience, gentleness, and love can do. ✨ Trust isn’t forced it’s earned. And this applies to every single soul in life.

Scarlett was never “aggressive.”
She was terrified… misjudged… simply protecting herself.
Now, we get to see who she truly is sweet, affectionate, and craving connection. She just wanted to feel safe. She just wanted to be loved. 🤍

Watching her transform into the bird she was always meant to be is one of the greatest gifts. Scarlett, you are AMAZING. 💪🦜💖

Meet Ninja tiny, tough, and full of fire.

Ninja was dealing with severe glaucoma and painful ulcers in his eye. After vet consults and everything possible being explored, the only humane option was to remove the damaged eye so he could finally be free from the pain he had been silently battling.

We are hand-feeding him, giving his meds on schedule, and cheering him on every step of the way. He’s a little spicy tornado with opinions, and that’s exactly why we love him. He fights and we fight right alongside him.

Because every warrior deserves a chance.

✨ Roan is living his absolute best life.

✨ He is loved more than words could ever say by his amazing forever family.

Charlie is a 4-month-old bull terrier who has already endured more than any baby should. 💔 He was cruelly dumped with a tiny harness made for a 5-pound dog cutting into his neck. We had to carefully remove it, and our hearts broke knowing someone left him like that.

But Charlie’s spirit is unshaken. ✨ He is full of love, playful energy, and sweetness. He did nothing to deserve being abandoned he just wants a chance at a forever family. 🐶💙

Charlie is safe with Warrior Hearts Animal Rescue and will be visiting our vet this week. Stay tuned for updates on this little fighter!

This breakthrough wasn’t overnight. It was built moment by moment earning her trust, honoring her boundaries, and letting her know she was safe. And when she finally allowed me to pet her head it was pure magic. ✨
